So much back story in such a small amount of space! All of this has come up before in one arc or another. The first reference is to Endgame where Cabal finnally admitted to Miranda he loved her. The second reference comes from Of Dhampirs where Cabal nearly lost his life trying to defend House Cabal from the vampire lord, Meirakat.
Miranda thinking Cabal just loves the carnage, isn't that far out of the realm of possibility. And I'm not sure that Cabal's insistence it's coincidence will convince her otherwise.
